Utilities Software

 .

The Utility Software is system software that helps to maintain the proper and smooth functioning of a Computer System. It assists the Operating System to manage, organize, maintain and optimize the functioning of the computer system.

Utility software performs certain tasks like virus detection, installation and uninstallation and backup, detection of unwanted files, etc. Some examples are antivirus software, file management tools, compression tools, disk management tools etc.

Antivirus Software

Viruses are malicious files that can infect a computer's hardware and software. Antivirus software monitors the files that are coming into the computer's drives to detect the presence of concerning threats. This type of utility software also scans all the files regularly and discards any malicious files that may lurk or cause problems with the computer.

Firewalls

A Firewall is a network security device that monitors and filters incoming and outgoing network traffic based on a organization's previously established security policies. At its most basic, a firewall is essentially the barrier that sits between a private internal network and the public internet. A Firewall's main purpose is to allow non-threatening traffic in and to keep dangerous traffic out.

Clean up tools for Cookies

  • Using a cookie cleaner tool will help you to free up space and optimize your computer.
  • You can find in our list a cookie remover app that deletes temporary and cached files regularly, according to a schedule.
  • The best software to clean the cookies includes powerful features that delete your history with one click.

Clean up tools for Internet history

The internet history keeps track of the websites you visit. This makes it easier for people to do into these website again. The performance of the computer is improved when the web history is deleted because it can save time when going back and fourth to pages because the pages don't need to be downloaded again. On the other hand, this can slow the computer down because of the amount of memory used to save this information is high. If a person doesn't save their personal data on the internet they may delete quickly and easily this can also ensure people's data is protected and safe.

Clean up tools for Defragmentation

Defragmentation is the process of consolidating fragmented files on the user's hard drive. Files become fragmented when data is written to disk, and there is not enough contiguous space to hold the complete file. Storage algorithms break the data apart so that it will fit into the available space.

Drive formatting

Drive formatting is the process of preparing a data storage device such as a hard disk drive, solid-state drive, floppy disk, memory card or USB flash drive for initial use. In some cases, the formatting operation may also create one or more new file systems. It is usually done before initial installation or before installation of a new operating system. Disk formatting is also done if there is a requirement for additional storage in the computer.

Introduction of Computer

.  A computer is an electronic device. It take input and store the data in memory and performing the function to produce accurate result in output device. It is used to type document, send email, play game, browse the web and entertainment.   Characteristics of computer  1 . High speed  Computer is very fast device. It is capable of performing calculation of very large amount of data. The computer has unit of speed in microsecond, nanosecond and even in picosecond. The computer is capable of performing millions of tasks per second. 2. Accuracy  The computer produces highly accurate and reliable result.  It does not make any kind of mistake in calculating. The calculation are 100% error free. The computers perform accurate 'n' number of times. 3. Storage capability A computer has much more storage capability. It can store large amount of data. It can store any type of data such as image, video, text document, audio and many more. 4. Diligence Diligence ...

Introduce Linux, UNIX and Linux distribution.

. Linux Linux is an open source operating system. The term Linux is actually referred to mean a kernel of Unix like operating system developed by a Finish software architect Linus Torvald. The name Linux is derived from Linus' Unix. Linux was originated from the inspiration of a small Unix like operating system MINIX by A.S Tanenbum. Linux is a complete multiuser, multiprocessing, secure and stable operating system which is also considered as UNIX clone. However no code from the proprietary from AT and T is included in Unix. It has flavor of Unix but is not Unix. UNIX  UNIX is a layered operating system. The innermost layer is the hardware that provides the service for the OS. The operating system, referred to in UNIX as the kernel, interacts directly with the hardware and provides the services to the user program. These user programs don't need to know anything about the hardware. They just need to know how to interact with the kernel and it's up to the kernel to provide ...
