Desktop Application

An application that can only be executed in a local system with a local is called a desktop application. They are usually used in one place but might have a "system tray" icon that remains visible one the screen. Some desktop applications like word processing and media players allow you to perform different task. Example of desktop application are Photoshop, Skype, Browser like Chrome, Breve, Microsoft File Explorer, Microsoft Word, Excel etc.
